Biography
Kelly Sims is STA’s Girls Academy Director and behind Executive Director Shane Bullock, is the longest serving staff member currently working at STA.
During her time at STA, Kelly has forged herself an ever growing reputation in the game. She has become one of the few females in the country to undertake her U.S Soccer National A Youth License and U.S Soccer Talent Scout License while also earning an undergraduate degree in High Performance Coaching.
She currently serves as a United States Youth National Team Assistant Coach (where she won a CONCACAF Championship in 2022 and has supported age groups from 2007-2009) and is also a US Soccer Youth National Team Network Scout and was previously a member of the U.S Club Soccer Id2 Boys and Girls National Staffs.
She is a multi time coaching selection to the Girls Academy Regional and National Selection program staff and was also named as the inaugural Girls Academy Coach of the Year in 2021.
A 2 time Girls Academy National Finalist (24,25), Champions Cup Champion (25) and Conference Champion (24) she has been instrumental in the recent successes of our Girls Academy program becoming a national standout both on the field and in terms of player progression to both youth national team selections and college.
In addition to the work she performs on the field at STA, Kelly has been instrumental in the off field and community based initiatives ran by the club, namely our Hope For The Holidays and #STAstrong cancer campaigns along with developing our Leadership Program.
A member of English professional sides Arsenal and Reading along with playing for the Jersey Blues here in N.J, Kelly is another with a wealth of experience to share with all of our players that we are fortunate to call one of our own.
