Ferry Smedema has served as Head Coach of the STA Girls Academy since 2022 and as Assistant Coach for Saint Peter’s University’s NCAA Division I men’s soccer program (Metro Conference) since the same year. In 2024, he completed a pre-season internship with the PSV Eindhoven Youth Academy in the Netherlands, working with the U15 boys team. From 2016 to 2022, Ferry served as Head Coach for several boys’ and girls’ teams across multiple age groups with Dutch Total Soccer / NJ Premier FC, where he also worked as a trainer for camps, clinics, and classes, and directed the 7v7 leagues. Earlier in his career, he was Assistant Coach for JSV Football Club’s men’s first team in the Netherlands from 2014 to 2016, and Head Coach of the JSV Youth Academy from 2004 to 2014. As a player, Ferry competed for Delta Sports, Geinoord SV, USVF Futsal Club, and JSV Football Club in the Netherlands, from his time as a youth academy player through his men’s first-team career between 1990 and 2016.
