The 2024 USL Academy League Finals that will take place at the IMG Academy facility in Bradenton, Florida starting on Thursday, December 5 and culminating with the championship matches on Sunday, December 8.

Throughout the 2024 campaign, FC Motown STA managed to use many STA youth players. In fact, all of the team apart from one player had played for the club in the past year. This helped with the team’s chemistry, and the players were also comfortable as they had been coached by at least one of the coaching members previously.

“The staff at FC Motown STA are very proud to have made history and won the club’s first USL Academy league title,” said Head Coach and Academy Director Matt Farrell. “Our first USL Academy league title is a testament to the incredible dedication and hard work of our entire team and coaching staff. The success we achieved is due to the togetherness and quality of our players, who consistently demonstrated their commitment to excellence both on and off the field. This victory is a reflection of our collective effort and unwavering spirit.”

The FC Motown STA crew showcased their chemistry and talents this season by not only winning the division title, but also ranking first in multiple statistical categories including goal differential, goals for and goals allowed. The squad will look to carry this momentum when competing in playoffs in December.

“Winning our first USL Academy league title is an incredible achievement for our team,” said team captain Ignacio Martinez. “It highlights the hard work, dedication, and unity that we’ve shown throughout the season. Every player contributed to this success, and it’s a proud moment for all of us to see our efforts pay off. This title is just the beginning, and we’re excited to compete in the national finals.”
