The STA 2008GA squad finished its historic season on Sunday, July 14th, becoming the first team in club history to advance to the Girls Academy Final. In a tough match-up against Lou Fusz Athletic, STA fell 2-1 after conceding a late goal to end the 23/24 season as National Finalists.
Goalkeeper Sienna_Goldstein was awarded the U16 23/24 National Final Golden Glove.
Head Coach Kelly Sims said, “This couldn’t have been achieved without the mini successes along the way and the buy in from the girls to commit to every moment of the game with the same dedication and grit.”
STA Technical Director Tom Shields said, “While the pain of a last minute defeat will take some time to pass, this will not be how your story ends and remembering all that was achieved to help you be one of the last two teams in the country standing is important. You have raised your own bar, and set new standards for all of us to continue to aspire to. We are so proud of all your efforts and know there will be more titles to fight for and incredible games to compete in in your future, and we are excited for the opportunity to see you go again!”
Congratulations 2008GA and Coach Kelly on an incredible season!!
